The line graph depicts the total number of tourists visiting Phuket Island each year from 2000 to 2020 and also the number of visitors, sorted by the type of accommodations they chose, hotels or apartments.

In summary, the number of all visitors to Phuket increased in the whole period both steeply and gradually. The line graph reveals a slight increase in the number of tourists staying in Phuket’s hotels with some minor oscillates, while the amount of tourists chosing apartments dropped slowly after a moderate rise.

From 2000 to 2008, the total number of all visitors went up notably from 1 million to approximately 5,5 million. After this point, there was a general climb until reaching its highest point in 2016. At the end of the period the total number of tourists went down and stabilised at 5,5 million.

The number of hotel and apartment choosers showed a steady increase between 2000 and 2008. There was a equaled rise in the type of accomodations with some fluctuations. However, after 2010 the popularity of apartments exceeded those of hotels. In 2020, the number of tourists, who chose apartments was exactly 4 million, and hotel choosers number show over 1.5 million people.
