Overall, both numbers were approaching the same number 80 in a kind of mirror trend and pattern. The number of students who choose French was falling. Conversely, the another was on the rise.
In 2000, there were over 150 students choose French and less 10 students choose Mandarin. However, in next 5 years, The figure of French declined sharply to 90 around, and Mandarin rose quickly to over 70. Also there was a slight rebound between 2005 and 2006 where French reached 100, and Mandarin decreased by 7 or 8, after 2006, both of them were steady with a little tendency of decline and increase respectively. At present, there is about 90 French selectors and 75 Mandarin selectors.
