The bar chart compares the amount of leisure time enjoyed by men and women in different employment categories during the year 1998 and 1999.
Overall, it can be seen that males generally had more leisure time than females across most employment categories. Moreover, unemployed and retired individuals enjoyed the most leisure time, whereas full-time workers had the least.
When it comes to full-time employees, males had approximately 45 hours of leisure time per week, while females had just under 40 hours. In contrast, only females were recorded in the part-time and housewife categories. Part-time employed females had around 40 hours of free-time weekly, whereas housewives enjoyed about 50 hours of leisure.
Among the unemployed, males had the highest amount of leisure time, averaging around 85 hours per week, while females had slightly less, with about 75 hours. Similarly, retired males enjoyed approximately 83 hours of free time, compared to 75 hours for their female counterparts. In both categories, the difference between the two genders was noticeable but not very large. Overall, these two groups had significantly more leisure time than those in other employment statuses.
