The line graph illustrates the usage of the Internet in different four activities namely downloading films, sending emails, shopping and studying online courses during the 15-year period from 2015 to 2025, with forecasts to 2030. Overall, it can be seen that there have almost been upward trends and will continue through 2030, whereas only downloading films fell remarkably. Besides, when shopping was the second lowest activity, it is predicted to play the dominant role in the use of the Internet in others during the timeframe.
In terms of shopping, the use of the Internet for this purpose attained 40% in 2015 and then there was a significant increase of approximately 68% in 2020. The proportion of shopping use is expected to reach under 100% by 2030 that will see a twofold rise and turn into the highest activity in 2030. Similarly, studying online courses was the lowest activity in the use of the Internet with nearly 38% in the initial year. Moreover, studying online courses experienced a dramatic jump to 65% in 2020 and overtook downloading films. The online courses’ projections will peak at 80% and become one of the dominant activities after five period years.
Regarding the stable patterns, sending emails, which was the most popular activity in 2015, remained during five years. Additionally, this activity rose steadily in 2025 and is predicted to slight growth by 2030. In contrast, downloading films was the only decline activity while it started the second most popular usage about 75% in 2015. Furthermore, downloading films, which significantly decreased nearly 55% after two decades, is expected to continue to drop further by 2030.
