The vertical bar chart displays the actual population dwelling urban zones in 2003 and the expected percentages in 2030. It is possible to observe how generally individuals living in cities are expected to increase worldwide.
In 2003, less than half of the Earth dwellers lived in urban contexts. However, in North America, this percentage raised to 80 percent, and similar data were collected in Europe and South America. On the other hand, in Asia numbers were lower than the world average data and this fact was even more evident when it came to Africa.
The second graph instead provides us with previsions for the percentages of cities’ dwellers in 2030. It is possible to note that, while in North America, Europe and South America the percentages remain steadily, in the remaining two continents the data will arise to more than 50 percent.
Overall, the percentages of the city inhabitants will significantly increase, even though some zones, who already presented higher percentages in 2003, will counterpart this trend, with less dramatical raisings.
