Dear Sir,

Hope this letter finds you in good health. My name is Aurelian Dsouza and my children, Denzil and Azalea study in grades four and seven at Don Bosco. Last night, my son mentioned to me that, the school is planning to take the class for a science field trip to Nehru planetarium at Vasai. After inquiring with his teacher, it was made known to me that you are looking for volunteers to accompany the children on the trip.

I wanted to apply to be volunteer since I come from a science background, academically with a degree in chemistry from Yale. I would be able to pass on some unique knowledge to the children as well as guide and explain concepts that are challenging. I have a liking to towards science since my schooling days and I was fond of science trips myself.

Being a parent myself, I would provide the children with the extra care and attention that would be required and it would be reassuring for the other parents as well, from a safety point of view.

I hope to receive a positive response towards my application from you.
