The table illustrates compares the percentage of people from various age groups doing different leisure activities in California in 2011.

Overall, watching TV was the favorite activity among all age groups, while playing computer games was the least popular activity for people who aged more than 31.

Watching television was the favorite pastime for all ages, representing more than three-fourth in all them. There were also the high figures for spending time with friends, people aged 18-30 showing 58%, while the figure for older people being only 33%. People from all ages preferred reading equally, showing between 22% and 16%.

Turning to less popular hobbies, gardening was quite popular among people aged more than 46, with 26%, whereas only 16% adults and 7% young people loved this hobby. Interestingly though, fourth of people aged 18-30 spent their free time via listening music, as opposed to a minority of elderly people. Finally, playing computer games was practiced only by the young, accounting for 15%.
