The graph presents New Zealand Import Figures from Australia and Japan in the years 1994-2004 and showcases the trend in New Zealands currency.
Overall, the trend began from 4000 million assumably in 1994 and reached a peak in 2004 at 8000 million. It is observant that there are fluctuations in the data, for example, from 4000 to approximately 5500 there is a gradual decrease, though a drastic drop happened from 5500 to 3000 which only later dramatically elevated to above 7000.
In contrast, it is evident as such that there are fewer drops than peaks reached in the data and subsequently the imports have eventually increased much more towards 2004 then 1994. Although there was another dip to about NZ$5,000 million in 2002, imports increased again and peaked at approximately NZ$8,000 million in 2004.Thereafter, the figure generally declined, falling to around NZ$2,000-2,500 million by the late 1990s. Despite a slight improvement towards 2004, imports from Japan remained significantly lower than those from Australia.
