The diagram illustrates the design of a home smokery and how it works.
Overall, the process involves three main stages, starting with fresh air entering the system and ending with the smoking of food in a chamber.
Regarding its structure, the first chamber, equipped with a lid, is responsible for providing fresh air. Next, the second chamber, also fitted with a lid, contains logs that are burned to generate smoke. The third chamber, located right under the box, serves as a path, allowing smoke to rise to the top of the box where food items are waiting to be cooked.
Considering how it works, the lid on the first chamber is opened to allow fresh air to enter, providing a sufficient supply of oxygen to the second chamber. Then, the logs in the second chamber are burned to produce smoke, which eventually travels through a pipe to the food box. Finally, the food items, such as fish or meat, are exposed to the rising smoke, gradually cooking them through the smoking process.
