The table shows the percentages of monthly household income that is spent on basic needs like food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment in five differnet Europeon countries.
Overalll, housing accounts for the higest proportion of expenditure in most countries, while clothing generallly represents the smalllest share. However, Turkey and Spain differ slightly, as they spend the largest proportion on food and drink.
In terms of housing, majority of people in the UK spends on it which is at 37%, followed by Germany at 33% and France at 31%. In contrast, Turkey and Spain, spends slightly less on housing, at 20% and 18% respectively. Majority of individuals in Turkey spends most of their spending in food and drinks, at 36%, followed by Spain at 31% . The Uk and France spends slightly less, at 27% and 25%, while Germany has the lowest which is at 22%.
Spending money on clothing was not quite popular among the people in all five Europeon countries. Germany has the higest share at 15% whereas France has the lowest share which is approximately half of the Germany at 7%. Regarding entertainment, Germany leads with 19% followed by Spain at 15% and France at 13%. Turkey and UK allocate the smallest proportion to this category both arount 10-11%.
Overall, while housing dominates spending in most countires, notable variations can be seen in food and entertainment expenses.
