The line graph shows modifications in consumption of diverse kinds of junk food by Mauritian teenagers between 1985 and 2015.
Overall, it can be seen that hamburgers and fried chicken experienced proliferation, while pizza has become less popular food choice over time.
Pizza used to be the leading option in 1985, accounting for 60 times per year. However, afterwards, its rate started falling dramatically. After an exponential decrease, it was eaten only 10 times by 2015. Therefore, the decline was six-fold compared to the initial rate, making it the least popular choice among other fast foods.
On the contrary, hamburgers started at the low rate of 10 eatings per year, after which they started to increase marginally. By the end of the period, the rate reached the high of 70 and became the absolute leader among other types of junk food.
Fried chicken has also experienced a gradual growth from roughly 5 to 60 between 1985 and 2005, respectively. However, after this, it went through the five-year plateau. Consequently, it slightly rose in 2015, constituting nearly 62 and being slightly surpassed by hamburgers.
