The two pie charts illustrate the proportions of sectors that contribute to the economy of Turkey in 2000 and 2006.
Overall, agriculture which was the highest in 2000, decreased throughout the period, whereas construction witnessed an increase. While some options dropped, others remained constant.
To begin with, the percentage of agriculture fell the most. It comprised almost a quarter of whole sectors in 2000. However, it showed a decrease of 10%, which was 14% in 2016. Likewise, leisure and hospitality and government went down over the 16-year period, falling to 14% and 9%, respectively. In contrast, healthcare and education represented the same proportion in both years.
On the other hand, construction experienced a noticable growth. In 2000, it accounted for only 3%. However, in 2016, it made up 10% of all. Manufacturing which was 8% in 2001, rose to 12% in 2016, whereas trade, utilities and transportation, finance, business and other grew slightly to 16% and 8%, respectively.
