The bar chart below represents how many people visited three museums during the period between 2000 and 2005.
Looking from an overall perspective, all of them experienced fluctuations, although China’s National museum varied more slightly, rather than MET and Edo.
Taking a glance at the details, the number of Edo museums visitors started at just over 13 million in 2000 and remained stable until 2002. The index plummeted to well over 9 million people per year. In 2003, the ratio fell even more, to approximately 7 million. Despite such big increases, in the last two years of the period, the number of visitors recovered slightly, finishing at 10 million viewers. The same pattern could be seen in the MET museums bar chart. Having started at 12 million visitors, the index then plunged to 6 million. The number remained unchanged until in 2003 it started to grow significantly, reaching 14 million people in 2005 and becoming the second best of these three museums.
During the same period, China’s National museum experienced a gradual rise during the first three years of the period. After that, it dipped marginally in 2004. Nevertheless, in the last year it soared to well over 15 million viewers, this figure being the peak of the bar graph.
