The document deals with the amount of waste production, in millions of tonnes, in Ireland, Japan, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and US over a twenty-year period.
First of all, in 1980, we can notice extremely huge disparities between the different countries studied. The waste production is 0,6 million of tonnes in Ireland, 28 in Japan, 4 in Poland, 2 in Portugal and 131 in the US, datas for Korea not being collected. The waste production of the US is largely higher than the other countries one.
10 years later, in 1990, all countries have increased their waste production a few, still not comparable to the US’s, which climbed to 151 millions of tonnes.
Finally in 2000, Portugal, Poland, Ireland and Japan’s waste production has grew up again, while Korea one has decline of 10 millions of tonnes, and the US is still on the other side of the scale, with a waste production which hits 192 millions of tonnes.
To wrap things up, almost all countries steady increased their waste production over the period studied. However some of them, like the US, have a amount much more considerable.
