The diagram illustrates the production waste in six different regions over the last twenty years. The table shows the amount of waste produced by countries such as Ireland, Japan, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and the United States.
Three periods were analyzed for production waste. In 1980, each country produced the smallest amount of waste compared to other years. However, Korea did not generate any waste, while the United States produced the highest amount of waste.
Over the next ten years, most regions increased their waste production, with the exception of Ireland, which managed to reduce its waste. The year 2000 marked the peak of waste production. Ireland and Portugal had the same tonnage of waste, but the highest waste production was recorded in the United States.
The data shows that annual waste production continues to rise in developed countries. While it was possible to reduce waste a few years ago, last year it became almost impossible to lower the production waste.
