The table details the data in five European countries about trades of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004. Overall, in Switzerland, bananas were traded highest price compared to coffee in 2004.
To begin with, coffee sales in UK were 1.5 million euros and it upsurged to 20 million euros in 2004. Whereas 3 million euro were earned in Switzerland for coffee trade, and it climbed to 6 million euros in 2004 which was twice the amount from 1999. In addition, Denmark had 1.8 million euros in 1999 but it rose only 0.2 million euros in 2004. Significantly, Belgium and Sweden were almost similar in number as 1 million euros and 0.8 million euros and rocketed to 1.7 million euros and 1 million euros respectively.
Furthermore, the bananas sales of Fairtrade in Switzerland were highest turnover as 15 million euros in 1999 and 47 million euros in 2004. Similarly, UK and Belgium were rose 5.5 million euros and 4 million euros from 1 million euros and 4 million euros respectively. However, the sales of bananas sales were reduced in Sweden and Denmark with by 0.8 million and 1.1 million euros from 1.8 million and 2 million euros respectively.
