The presented graphs reveal information about the time taken, the covered distance as well as the mode of travel in one country from 1995 to 2015.
As the chart indicates, from 1995 to 2005, the rate of distance travelled increased from 7000miles to almost 7200miles. The rise is also noted in the figure of time taken, which reached approximately 390 hours. Interestingly, it is apparent that after 2005 there has been a significant decrease not only in the distance but also in the time that people needed for their transportation. Specifically, in 2010 the amount of time people took to travel was calculated to 370 hours, while the distance they covered plummetted as well, to 6700 miles. Moreover, it is evident that from 2010 to 2015 there has been a steady drop in people’s choice of travel.
Regarding the preference in the mode of travel, it is clear that private transportation was the choice of the majority of the population during the years 1995-2015.
To summarise, people’s travel in the specific time period fluctuated. A small part of the population chose public transport, walking or cycling as their mode of travel, whereas almost 65% of the travellers preferred to use their own mode of transport.
