The graph illustrates the recycling rate for four different materials such as paper & cardboard, glass containers, aluminum cans and plastics in a country between 1982 and 2010.
The line that belongs to recycling proportion of papers & cardboards showed a fluctuating trend between 1982 and 1994. Then, it decreased constantly from 1994 with 80% to 2010 with 70%. Likewise, the rate of recycling for glass containers followed some kind of irregular trend until 1994. After that year it rose from 50% to 60% at a constant rate.
The aluminum cans’ recycling rate escalated at the same rate between 1986 and 2002. Then, it followed a different constant line trend until 2010. The recycling proportion of plastics was relatively low compared to the other three materials, but it followed a slowly increasing trend. However, it did not exceed 10%.
Overall, the recycling rate for paper & cardboard and glass containers fluctuated at first. Then, while paper & cardboard constantly decreased, glass containers increased. On the other hand, both recycling proportion of aluminum cans and plastics rose.
