This bar chart compare the proportions of men and women in Great Britain who held driving licences between 1976 and 2006, and and the percentage of young people aged 17-20 who applied for a licencen in 1996 and 2006.
Overall it is clear that men consistently had higher licence ownership than women throughout the period althiugh the narrowed over time. In contrast, the proportion of young applocants declined for both genders, with a sharper fall among females.
In terms of total licence holder in 1976 year around 70% if we saw in 1981 after five year it remain stable then we look at 1986 it just increased slightly, by about 2% and year by year it continued to rise. By 2006 it reached a total of 80% for the males. There we can see the woman part in 1979 only 30% women over the following year and in 1981 only 4% increase over the 5 year gap at the next stage which is 1981 only 6% increased. Itt also life males view it slightly increase year by year.
Regarding young drivers aged 17-20, males where likely than females to apply for licence in both year. In 1996 roughly 50% of young men applied, compar3ed 30% of young women. However by 2006 these proportions had fallen to about 45% for males and just about 20% for females
