Overall, it can be seen that China and USA had the most international students throughout the entire period. While Japan and Russia had the less overseas students.
In 2004, Chinese students held the top position. Applying the most to european country. This stayed till 2006, USA and China overlapped. After that, students from China dropping and USA start surging. At last, USA took over China and became the most international student among 4 country. It is clear that there were fewer students from China and more in USA overtime.
On the other hand, Russia had the fewest internation appliation. It was always below 2500 applicants. Japan had around 6500 students during 2004 but then increased till 10000 students in 2008. Japan had more and more applicants.
