Overall, Japan showed the highest upward trend during the period while Russia increased. America didn’t change and China had a constant decrease, however it witnessed the highest trend compared to others.
In the initial year (2004), Japan contributed to approximately 13000 applicants however, it grew from 15000 to 22000, in 2005 to 2007. In the final year (2008), Japan rose noticeably to 26000. In contrast, the USA accounted for 55000 and in the subsequent years (2006-2007) it went up from 60000 to 95000. In 2008, it grew to 10000.
In 2004, China showed the highest upward which, was 27000 in 2004 and it declined significantly to 25000 in 2005. In the subsequent years (2006 and 2007), had a similar change – 17000. In 2008, it fell considerably to 15000. In contrast, Russia remained unchanged which was 20 000.
