Overall, male students mostly have been attracted for comprehensive schools whereas female students wanted to enter grammar schools in the given period. In 2009,faith schools had the least popular type of high school among male and female students.
Total number of female students who attended grammar schools surpassed the male students with difference of 6932 attendees while total population of male students who attended comprehensive schools were more compared to female students with 14461 joiners. However, there was not a significant difference of academies and faith schools participants according to gender types.
