In an overview, majority of the male students chose comprehensive school, while the highest number of female students went for grammar schools.
In 2009, 56201 of the male students opted comprehensive schools and 36955 of them went for grammar schools in the UK. At the same time, only 10102 and 5024 of the male students decided to go for academics and faith schools respectively.
Meanwhile, the female students who opted for comprehensive school were 41560, while 43887 of the students went for grammar schools. Moreover, 12106 of the female students attended academics. However, the number of students who opted for faith schools were comparitively less than the other schools which was around 7140 male students in the UK
