The table represents information regarding two methods of scraping various electronic products worldwide in the year 2010. The electronic waste that was trashed and recycled was measured in tonnes whereas, the rate at which these were reused was in percentages.
Overall, it is evident that computers were the most recycled items while televisions being the most disposed products were the least reused items.
To begin with, a total of 423,000 tonnes of computers were discarded out of which 255,000 tonnes got trashed and the rest were reutilized resulting in the highest recycling rate of 40%. In contrast to this, televisions summed up being the highest number of discarded items out of which the majority of it was trashed and only 17% were reused. Moreover, the number of monitors thrown away was almost double the count of discarded hard copy devices however, the recycling rate for both of them was the same at 33%.
Additionally, almost all the keyboards and mice were trashed out of which only 6,460 tonnes were reutilized. Similarly, for mobile devices, only 11% of the total items were recycled.
