The chart illustrates the percentage of various vehicles registered in Norway between 2008 and 2018 also, the depiction for the year 2028. From the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the petrol and diesel vehicles were dominant in both years. However, a considerable growth is seen in hybrid electric and fully electric vehicles over the given period of time. Whereas, it is projected to reverse substantially, hybrid and fully electric surpassing the fossil fuel four wheelers.
In 2008, petrol vehicles were the most popular among the people of Norway with 69% of vehicles registered which was followed by diesel vehicles recording 30%, while just 1% were hybrid vehicles. At this time, there were no fully electric vehicles. By 2018 however, the share of petrol vehicles significantly decreased to 39 % whereas the diesel upsurged from 30% to 46 %. The most noticeable increase can be seen in the hybrid electric and fully electric percentage 11% and 4 % respectively.
By 2028, it is predicted that fully electric and hybrid electric vehicles will rise to 32 % and 30% respectively. On the other hand, diesel would have a considerable decrease at 27% and petrol vehicles as the least chosen vehicle dropping at 11%.
