The three pie charts illustrate the share of electric, hybrid, petrol, and diesel vehicles recorded in Norway in 2008 and 2018, along with predictions for 2028.
Overall, the proportion of the vehicles powered by petrol accounted for the highest figure in 2008, while it is expected that its percentage will be decreased significantly by 2028, increasing the share of fully electric and hybrid vehicles.
In 2008, the figure for petrol vehicles represented more than two third, as opposed to the share of the diesel vehicles, at 30 percent. The percentage of transportation modes powered by petrol and diesel experienced a significant decline, which were 39 and 46 percent, respectively. It is estimated that their share will continue to decrease by 2028, falling to 11 and just over a quarter, accordingly.
Turning to the transportation types powered by electric and hybrid, they made up the tiny fraction of vehicles. In contrast with diesel and hybrid vehicles, their proportion experienced a upward trend. The figures for fully electric and hybrid transportation types rose to 4 and 11 percent, respectively. It is predicted that they will rank first in 2028, surpassing other modes of transportation, at 32 and 30 percent.
