Overall, natural gas and coal were the main sources of energy throughout the period, and they showed a downward trend in the following years. While nuclear and oil energy increased over time.
In 2000, natural gas got the highest rank at about 44%, followed by coal at more than 30%. However, the proportion of energy from natural gas and coal gradually declined in 2008 with Natural gas gained only around 20%. Similarly, Coal had dropped sharply from over 30 to about 20% in the end of the period.
On the other hand, opposite with natural gas and coal, nuclear and oil experienced an overall rise. Nuclear dropped slightly about 10% in 2004, and then increased significantly to 26% in 2008. At the same time, oil was growing from 10% to more than 20 over the same period.
