As can be seen from the graph, a growth trend was seen in the mobile phone sales’ data of Samsung, Apple, and ZTE over the last 3 years. Starting at around 254 million in 2009, Samsung’s global phone sales experienced a significant rise to 330 million and hit the highest point at 450 million. Apple also witnessed a remarkable increase, with smaller data. Beginning at approximately 30 million in the first year, the sales of Apple had an upward trend. To be more specific, it grew steadily by around 60 million in 2011, and by 60 million in the next year. For ZTE, a slight improvement was observed over the period, it increased from 51 million in 2009 to 55 million and approximately 60 million in 2011, 2013, respectively.
In contrast, the sales of Nokia and LG underwent a downward trend from 2009 to 2013. With the start at around 445 million, a sharp decrease was observed in Nokia’s figure. To be more detailed, it dropped from 445 million to 420 million in 2011, and continued falling to 250 million in 2013. Similarly, there was a noticeable decline in LG’s data. Starting at approximately 120 million in 2009, it decreased by 90 million in 2011 and by 70 million in 2013.
