The chart illustrates spending on different forms of music in America in 2013 and 2014.
Overall,there was a clear downward trend in all categories except streaming.Although, the downloads category stood out as by far the largest share at the beginning of the analyzed period.
It is noteworthy that, at the beginning of the period, the downloads category showed the highest share with a hefty 1541 million dollars,while the music video and synchronisation royality categories were much less popular with only fewer than 100 million dollars for each category.In the meantime,the CD category came in a close second with 885 million,and streaming was third with 700 million.
By 2014, the downloads category again recorded the highest share;however this figure declined by 241 million dollars from the previous year.Meanwhile,the CD category dropped to third place with 719 million,later swapping places with streaming,which increased from 700 million in 2013 to 860 million in 2014.As for music vidoe, it showed a slight decrease from 50 million in the initial year to 10 million by the end of the period, also synchronisation royalities recorded slight decrease by a mere 10 million dollars.
