The bar chart illustrates the registration of students in music at an Australian university in the time span from 2000 to 2006, while the pie chart depicts the professional path they pursue after graduation.
Clearly, the number of female students who signed up for music was higher than male participants over the given period of time. However, the vast majority of these students changed their career path to different fields after their graduation.
From 2000 to 2006 the number of female learners gradually increased from 20% to 60%, whilst males’ rates experienced fluctuations accordingly the least 10% in 2004 and again rose to 20% in 2006. However, the total number of enrolled student were same in 2000 with 20%.
After graduation students who wanted to continue their professional career as same profession was dramatically decreased by one fifth. However, quarter of these postgraduates decided to pursue their career in a similar field. Surprisingly, students who continued their professional life in different professions were the most (55%)
