Australia’s number of employed people by gender and job type last year are well illustrated in the given chart.
In overall, there were much more men than women in employment. As a result, the number of men outweighed that of women in most types of jobs except for clerical and professionals.
To start with, the highest number of men was seen working as tradespeople, which accounted for 900.000 units. On the other hand, the highest number for women was roughly 1,000,000 employed people in the clerical sector, which was approximately 100,000 more than the highest number of men.
Bottom figures for women were seen at the “Tradespeople” and “Production” sectors at the same size of 100,000 people while the least number of men at the “Labourers” bar were four time more than that of women. There was another typical difference in the “Managers” sector in which the number of men at manager level were triple the number of women, they were at 600,000 and 200,000 units respectively. Apart from this, the number of employed women was 50.000 units higher than men in the professional bar. This bar together with the “Clerical” one were the only two out of seven in which women’s figures were higher than those of men.
