As can be seen in the chart, Overall, the number of male students studying engineering remained steady at around 15,000 students in Australian universities. In 1992, the number of male students was almost 15,000 compared to the female students, below 5,000 students that year. However, a decade later, in 2002, women students were on the upward trend, with almost 5,000 students studying in the university.
At the end of the period, in 2012, the number of female students studying in engineering faculty also showed an upward trend, with more than 5,000 women studying in Australian universities.
