The given bar chart illustrates the amount of evidence students learning different kinds of subjects in 2005, with a comparison between male and female participants.
Overall, male students outnumbered females in most subjects. Natural sciences were the most popular field between both participants, while linguistics had the lowest figure. Females were more represented only at linguistics compared to males.
Regarding male students, the highest number can be seen in three subjects areas such as natural sciences, mathematics and psychology, at around 200. Engineering and programming were also male-dominated subjects, above 150. In contrast, linguistics had the minor quantity of male researchers, nearly 80.
As for females, natural sciences and psycology had the highest number of students, with figures close to 200 and 175 respectively. Linguistics, engineering and programming turned out to be moderately popular subjects, which made up 110, 90 and 75. However, in mathematics female participation was significantly lower.
