The bar graph illustrates the proportion of men and women of Australia under different age groups from 25 to 65 and above, who did physical activity regularly in 2010. Overall, the percentage of females involved in physical activity was higher than males, except for one category. It is also seen that old-aged men and women are equally taking part in activities.
The proportion of men involved in physical activity was varying across different age groups. The percentage of male population from the category of 15 to 24 took part in physical activities was around 53%, which continued to decline among the next two decade age groups to fall around 40%. Whereas, the trend continued to change, as they were getting older, there involvement in physical exercises increased too. For the next three generations of age groups from 45 to 65+, the trend had gradually increased to finish nearly at 47%.
However, the proportion of female population predominantly topped over men under many age groups. While dominated by young men of 15 to 24 category by around 5%, female population continued to gradually increase and also simultaneously dominating the proportion of men under all categories. Moreover, the highest proportion by an age group to do fitness is achieved by the 55 to 64 age female division.
