The chart illustrates the percentage data of people who consumed five portions of vegetables or fruit every day in the UK between the years of 2001 and 2008.
Overall, British women were always the top consumers, men were the second and the children were the last in the period given.. It can be seen that percentages of all British people who ate the amount given witnessed rises until the year of 2006. While by 2006 the amount of men and women broke their habits and numbers started to go down, the rise of children consumer numbers lasted until 2007.
British women started with over 20 percent and climbed over time until 2006. ın 2006 it reached a peak of around 35 percent then slowly started to decrease in two last years of the period given and ended with 30 percent while still being higher than other categories of consumers.
Men and children consumers remained steady in 2001 and 2002 (around 12 percent, around 16 percent respectively. Later on in 2003 they had a mere increase not changing the data much. from 2004 to 2006 they both experienced significant increases: the percentage men went up to nearly 30 from 25 and the percentage of children went up to nearly 25 from around 16.
