Overall, the percentage of men in european country is significantly higher than that of women in same country. The highest levels of unemployment for both groups occurred in october of 2009.
At the beginnig of 2008, the unemployment rate for men stood at around 7%, compare to higher than the figure for women, which was just under 7%. in october, men rate was sharply increased, with approximately 17% , while women rate was no more than 15% in 2008.
A similar pattern is seen in 2009. In january, the unemployment rates for men and women were roughly 7% and 6% respectively. These figure remained fairly stable until July. In the final quarter, both groups experienced a noptable rise. Male unemployment peaked at nearly 15% in October, while the rate for women increased to around 12%.
