The bar graph illustrate the number of oil barrel produced per day by OPEC and non-OPEC nations over 40 years period from 1980 to 2020.
Overall, non-OPEC countries made up the majority of the world’s oil production at the beginning; however, their figures experienced a sharp decline over the period in question, similar to that of other OPEC category. Meanwhile, the opposite trend could be seen with oil produced by OPEC Middle East countries, which became the leading oil manufacturer at the end.
Firstly, between 1980 and 2000, non-OPEC nations produced around 10 million barrels per day, making them the leading global producers. After that, their production decreased progressively to only approximately 1 million barrels daily in 2020. Similarly, other OPEC countries started manufacturing fossil fuel in 2000 at the rate of around 5 million barrels per day, then this figure plummeted to 1 million barrels per day at the end.
Secondly, oil production in OPEC Middles East nations was quite insignificant at the beginning with 2 million barrels per day. However, OPEC Middle East countries surpassed other nations to lead the global oil production in 2010 with 8 million barrels produced every day, before confirming its domination with the production of over 16 million barrels daily in 2020.
