Almost all people from the 18 – 30 age group cite chance for personal development as the biggest influencing factor (90%), followed by relaxed working environment (81%) and scope for promotion (81%). Money, 75% and team spirit, 65% also affect their quality of work. While other factors affect 40% of young employees, they are least affected by work environment – only 30%.
Most workers of the ages 45 – 60 claim that money and team spirit play a huge role in their work at 70% and 60% respectively. Factors like job satisfaction, promotion prospects, respect from colleagues, competent boss, affect only 40% of workers. The least significant determinant is job security as only 20% workers are affected by them.
Trivial differences are observed when it comes to respect from colleagues, competent boss, job satisfaction and money. But the largest difference are noticed for the chance for personal development, relaxed working environment and promotion prospects, where the younger workers beat the older workers by a massive margin.
