The following bar graph illustrates the consumption of salt by males and females in various age brackets in one of the countries in Europe in 2019.
Overall, the quantities of consumed salt by men were much greater than those by women in the all provided age categories. Apart from immature people and 70+ women, all other individuals did not follow suggested the salt consumption of 2300 mg on a daily basis.
In more detail, the statistics for children with 2-5 age range were nearly the same for both genders, standing at about 1500 mg, while those for people with 6-11 age group accounted for around 2700 mg and 2500 mg regarding men and women, respectively. The figures experienced upward tendency to reach the peak of just above 5000 mg for males and just under 4000 mg for females in the bracket of the middle-aged.
However, regular intake of salt started to fall down, beginning with 40-49 age group whose members consumed approximately 4500 mg and 3500 mg mineral. Then, the numbers concerning the senior citizens with 70+ age were stabilized at just below 4000 for men and 2300 mg for women.
