Overall, it can be seen that men have made more car trips for work and recreations, while women drove more often for shopping and visiting friends.
In detail, the highest percentage of trips for both men and women was for work. Around 52 percent of men’s car trips were for this purpose, compared with about 40 percent for women.
On the other hand, women were more likely to drive for shopping, with around 17 percent, compared to slightly less for men. The proportion of trips for visiting friends and running errands was also higher among womens. However, for courses and bank visits, the difference between men and women was quite small.
In conclusion, men tended to use cars mainly for proffesional and leisure activities, while women mostly used them for social and domestic purposes.
