Overall, smartphones were the most dominant item with youngsters while e-reader were more significant with elderly people. Each device had its single consumption in each category.
A large number of mobile phones was used by teenagers, approximately 65% among all age groups. The use of smartphones witnessed an downward trend while the people’s age increased: 40% and 35% for 25-50 and 51-75 age group, respectively while the last category just shared a modest rate, around 10%. Conversely, a significant majority of elderly people used e-reader, about 70%; in contrast with that figure for the youngest group: 0%.
With tablets, it was widely operated by the middle age group and the young, 40% and 30%, respectively. Meanwhile, that figure was lower in two remaining sectors, about 20% in the senior and approximately 3% in the oldest category. The largest proportion of laptop users attributed to the senior group, around 40%, followed by those for older people, 30%. The percentages of the 12-24 and 25 -50 age group were much lower, about 10% and 4, respectively.
