The bar chart highlights the percentage of workers in several sectors of employment (agricultural, industrial, and service sectors) in three countries at different stages of economic development, namely Japan, Brazil, and India.
Overall, India is the highest contributor to the agricultural sector, dwarfing Brazil and especially Japan. Brazil and Japan dominate the industrial and service sector over India, with Japan in the lead in both. The highest contribution of Japan is to the service sector, and the same is true of Brazil.
A little over 60% of India’s workforce is devoted to agriculture, 25% and 5% being the case for Brazil and Japan’s workforce respectively. 35%, 25%, and 5% of respectively Japan, Brazil, and India’s workforce contributes to the industrial sector. Japan dominates the service sector at about 60% of its workforce being in it, with around 50% of Brazil’s and a little less than 30% of India’s workforce also being involved in the service industry.
