The bar chart compares the percentages of British citizens of different ages who used the internet daily throughout the period from 2003 to 2006.
Overall, the trends were mixed: while some values increased, others declined or remained at roughly the same level. Another notable feature is that adults aged 65 and over appear only from 2004.
Generally, in 2003 the age groups 16-24, 25-44 and 45-54 showed similar percentages. However, adults aged 55-64 were lower. There was a decrease in internet use from about 80 to approximately 60 percent between the 25-44 and 45-54 groups. At that time, adults aged 16-24 and 65+ stayed in the lowest proportion.
Between 2005 and 2006, the most noticeable changes were in the 16-24 group, while the 55-64 group fluctuated. In contrast, the 65+ category remained at a stable level of about 20 percent. There was also a gradual increase from about 60 to 80 percent during the period from 2005 to 2006.
