The given bar chart illustrates the proportion of people according to their age going to different kinds of music events in Australia in 2006.
In general, Popular music events seemed to be the most popular among the three other categories surveyed. It is also apparent that people who have ages ranging from 15 to 24 and 35 to 44 were more keen on going to the music events than other age groups.
In 2006, while just 11% and 13 % of people in the youngest age group of the survey went to the classical and opera music concerts, the number of popular events attendance seemed to be three times higher, standing at nearly 40%. A similar pattern can be seen in the figures for the 25-34 age group, in which the number of youngster attending famous music events far exceeded that of opera and classical, with respective figures being 27%, 14%, and 8%. Similarly, the people who have ages ranging from 35 to 44 were more keen on going to popular concerts than the other two left, exceeding 30%.
Turning to the older age groups l, the number of people over 45 years old and under 54 years old going to three different types of music events was rather uniform, hovering around 13%. Opera music concerts seemed to be the most popular among people in the oldest group (15%), compared to 8% of those in classical music events and 5% in popular concerts.
