The bar graph compares the proportion of school children who played four musical instruments- piano, drums,guitar, and violin- in three years: 2005, 2010 , and 2015. Overall , piano and guitar were the most popular instruments among children, with the latter surpassing the former in the last year. It is also evident that playing drums and violin was relatively lower throughout.
Children who played piano and guitar accounted for the highest percentage . Both instruments initially attracted relatively similar proportion of children at around 12 each. The figure for piano increased notably to 21% upon five years , which was four percentage points higher than guitar learners. Guitar players ,in contrast, surpassed with 40%, leaving 37 % to piano learners by the end of the period.
The remaining instruments- drums and violins- however, revealed varying patterns. The latter followed a downward trend. Its figure decreased consistently to just 5% in 2015, down from 10% in 2005. As for drums learners, their volume was stable at just 5% in the first two years, despite rising moderately to 8% by the end of the period.
