The provided bar chart gives detailed information on various waste disposal systems such as landfill, incineration, recycling, and composting that is used in four different cities namely – Toronto, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, and Amman.
Examining the chart from a broader perspective, it is apparent that landfill and incineration are most commonly used waste disposal systems by the four cities while recycling and composting are the less preferred options.
Moreover, concentrating on cities in particular, Toronto is most famous for using landfill as over 70% of its total waste is disposed using this method and about 10% is disposed by using incineration and the other two remaining which is little less than 10% each is disposed by recycling and composting. In addition to that, major portion of waste from Amman is also discarded using landfill method which is about 50% and a little less than 40% is discarded using incineration method followed by 10% in recycling and very little in buried in compost.
In regards to Madrid and Kuala Lumpur, large portion of the city’s total waste is disposed using incineration method about 40% and 55% respectively. Additionally both the cities also promote recycling as roughly little more than 20% of the waste is recycled in each city and these figures are compared to the use of landfill as an option as Madrid disposes almost 30% of its waste using landfill while Kuala Lumpur used about 15% for the same. Last but not least, both cities remove a little less than 10% of the total waste using composting.
