Looking at the statistics for Toronto and Amman, it can be seen that these two cities have the same pattern about the percentage of treated garbage by the four ways, which decreases in order from landfill, incineration, recycling, and compositing. For the landfill, this is the most prevalent method in Toronto and Amman, with about 75% and well-under 50%, respectively. In addition, there are just over 10% of waste being treated in Toronto while the proportion of removed waste by this method in Amman is higher than that in Toronto by nearly 30%. Besides, recycling is the third most common way at approximately 8% in Toronto and well-over 10% in Amman. Moreover, there is about 7% of waste being disposed by compositing in Toronto, which is higher than the percentage in Amman by 4 times.
As can be observed from the statistics for Madrid and Kuala Lumpur, the percentages of discarded waste by incineration method in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur are the highest, at 40% and about 55%, respectively. On the other hand, compositing is the least used method in the two cities, with less than 10% and approximately 7%, correspondingly. Additionally, for the landfill method, the statistics in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur are under 30% and about 15%, respectively. Finally, the percentage of treated rubbish by recycling method in Madrid is the same that in Kuala Lumpur, at about 23% each.
