At first glance, both males and females displayed a range of qualifications. The majority of males attained a GCE A level or equivalent, while females were predominant in the GCSE grade A-C or equivalent category, with both groups accounting for nearly 30 percent. The remaining qualifications were held by males and females in nearly equal proportions.
Upon closer inspection, it is found that a higher percentage of females than males had no qualifications, standing at approximately 25 percent for females compared to 20 percent for males. In contrast, higher education qualifications were the least common, accounting for about 10 percent overall, regardless of gender. Additionally, slightly more men obtained a degree or equivalent, representing around 13 percent in comparison with 12 percent.
In conclusion, male employees in Wales tend to have higher academic qualifications than female employees.
