Overall, it is clear that work and sleep were the most dominant sectors among men and women in 2011, while the amount of time given for shopping was least in the same time period.
Looking at the bar chart in more detail, men spent the highest number of time on work, at about 8.6 hours per day. Moreover, a higher amount of time was spent on sleep by women than working, at 6.8 hours and 9.1 hours respectively. Meanwhile, the time spent on household chores by women was 2.2 hours, while the figure for shopping was only 1 hours.
In terms of other categories, the time spend on child care by females was almost 2.8 hours, which was almost double than for men at 1.9 hours. In 2011, men spent more time on others tasks compared to households chores, at 5 hours and 2.6 hours respectively. Furthermore, 3 hours was spent on others by women, which was larger than the devoted time on shopping by men, at 0.9 hours.
