The bar chart illustrates the percentage of working hours worked by males and females.
Overall, while female workers reported higher figures than men in terms of fewer working hours, the share of men was higher in the longer working hour categories. Of particular note is that for those working over 80 hours, both men and women showed the same percentage.
The percentage of female workers in the two lowest working hour categories was higher, with women working in the 0-10 hour category representing 15%, compared to 5% for men. The difference was marginally smaller in the next category, 10-20 hours, with 24% of women and almost half that for men (12%).
However, in the higher working hour categories, the trend reversed. Men represented 43%, while women reported 30% in the 30-50 hour category. In the 60-80 hour category, men recorded more than twice that of women, with 30% and 15%, respectively. Interestingly, the share of men and women working over 80 hours was identical at 10%.
